Past Projects: New Home
For Arnold, building a new home meant abandoning the freedom of being nowhere; setting roots in Vancouver instead; for Sima it meant both having a hometown and a home in Vancouver.
Sima used to live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment in Access Housing Co-op in East Vancouver where she lived for about seven years.
After much searching they decided on the yet to be built Escala high-rise. After over a year of planning with the architects, Peter Cardew and David Scott, construction on their new home began in December 2001.
In August 2002 Sima was finally ready to move in while Arnold was still roaming the world, coming to Vancouver as a tourist only.
